Review: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

Afghanistan is only known to me through the news as a troubled country. This novel made it feel closer, and its people familiar. There is friendship, there is sacrifice, and there are moments where you almost experience the deeply troubled and disturbing social circumstances as your own. Very well-written.
